Blues Status

Award Criteria

Half Blues: Up to 11 Half Blues may be awarded to those in the Varsity Blues Team, who finish the Varsity Match within a Silver Standard Time (150% of the course base time, as specified in BOF Competition Rule N Issue 2.3 (subject to other requirements)). 
Discretionary Full Blues: Discretionary Full Blues may be awarded to those who meet the criteria for Half Blues, contribute to the Varsity Match score (top 4 men or top 3 women) AND one of the following criteria: 
	1. Achieve a top 6 finish in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Championships, effectively qualifying to represent GB Universities at the World University Games as an individual competitor or first or second reserve, OR; 
	2. Achieve a Championship Standard Time (125% of the course winner’s time, as specified in BOF Competition Rule N Issue 2.3 (subject to other requirements)) at three of the races listed below, in the same academic year as the Varsity Match, while running the elite open course (M/W21E, or M/W21L if no E course).

The eligible events are: 
	• The Jan Kjellström Sprint, Middle, or Long Distance Orienteering Championships 
	• The British Night, Middle, or Long Distance Orienteering Championships 
	• The British Sprint Orienteering Championships (A Finals only) 
	• The BUCS Orienteering Individual Race (Course A only) 
	• The Senior Home International (M/W21 OR M/W20) 
	• ONE of the Southern, Midlands, or Northern Orienteering Championships 
	• Any other event with WRE status (i.e. world ranking level events)
